Nine men on trial over abuse of woman drugged by husband
Nine men have gone on trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court accused of sexual offences against a woman drugged and abused by her husband.
Nine men have gone on trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court accused of sexual offences against a woman who was drugged and raped by her husband over more than two decades. The husband, in his 60s, has already pleaded guilty to multiple offences including rape and administering a substance with intent. Prosecutors told the court that the husband initially abused his wife while she was unconscious from alcohol or drugs, then began sharing images online with other men before inviting them to their home in Stockport to rape and sexually assault her whilst she lay unconscious in bed. Police recovered over one million photographs and videos from the husband's phone cataloguing the abuse. All nine defendants deny the sexual offences they are accused of.
