An off-duty FBI agent shot and killed Oscar Corrales, 27, a Venezuelan illegal immigrant, after encountering him firing a gun toward a homeless encampment in Chicago on Monday evening near West 18th Street and South Union Avenue. A 75-year-old Kingman man has died after his UTV went off a narrow, rocky trail at Hualapai Mountain Park and rolled approximately 200 feet down a mountainside. The incident occurred on Friday 23 October when a group of UTVs was riding from Soap Canyon toward the park. The driver, identified as John Emory Shultz, was found dead further down the ravine. Search and rescue crews used technical rope systems to reach the vehicle due to the steep, rugged terrain. The Mohave County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death.

The justice department said they sometimes used artificial intelligence-driven video platforms to impersonate women. Victims collectively lost $9m (£6.7m). The three face up to 20 years in prison and will be sentenced next year.

Peter Dobing, Stoke City's only captain to lift a major trophy, has died aged 87. The Manchester-born forward made 377 appearances and scored 95 goals for Stoke after being signed by manager Tony Waddington from Manchester City in 1963 for a then club record £37,500. President Trump announced on Tuesday that his administration is weakening Biden-era rules designed to limit methane emissions from oil and gas drilling. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has alleged that Arab parties stole Tuesday's election through serious criminal offences including bribery, threats, violence and forgery. A 29-year-old Fargo man has been sentenced to 25 years for sexually assaulting a child under 15. The court heard that Tyrrell raped a woman by having sex with her after she repeatedly said no. He then told her 'I don't believe what's just happened' and 'do you realise that what I've just done, that was rape?' Tyrrell is due to be sentenced in December.

Bryan Thomas, 27, is wanted after failing to return to HMP Kirkham following a temporary release on 21 August. He had been let out on a temporary licence to do unpaid work in the community. Police say numerous enquiries have been ongoing to find him. Thomas comes from Kirkby, Merseyside, and has links to Kirkby, Melling and Manchester. Plans to build 23 homes north of Southwater are to be considered by Horsham District Council. The application from Star Build Ltd, for land at Worthing Road, will be discussed at a planning committee meeting on Tuesday, November 3. If approved, the development will include 14 detached and semi-detached houses for open market sale, plus eight semi-detached and terraced houses and one flat classed as affordable housing. Planning officers have recommended the application for approval. A force medical examiner did not recommend a Mental Health Act assessment but requested a mental health nurse visit the next morning, which never happened. Andrew McAdam, 36, has been sentenced to 10 years and six months in prison for sexual crimes against a child in Edinburgh and the Trossachs. McAdam will be placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.

Steven Thomas, 37, admitted three charges of making indecent images of children, three of distributing them, and one count each of attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child and attempting to cause a child to engage in sexual activity. Police raided his former address in Colchester last August and found 173 indecent images and videos on seized phones and a MacBook Pro, 72 classified as Category A. Thomas had encouraged other paedophiles to send him indecent images and made sexualised comments to someone he believed was a 15-year-old Romanian boy. When arrested, he begged police to arrest him.

Utah authorities announced on Tuesday that DNA evidence has linked serial killer Ted Bundy to the 1974 murder of 17-year-old Melissa Ann Smith, whose body was discovered by hunters on 27 October 1974. The breakthrough came months after the same DNA technology connected Bundy to another 1974 Utah victim, 17-year-old Laura Ann Aime, in April. Bundy, who was executed by electric chair in Florida in 1989, had confessed to killing at least 30 women and girls across multiple states during the 1970s. A Y-chromosome DNA profile recovered from Aime's remains matched DNA found on Smith's body, and investigators determined Smith's death showed hallmarks of Bundy's 'pattern, motive, means and opportunity'. A cold-case detective told Fox News that Bundy may have other undiscovered victims.

A Florida surgeon, Dr Vipul Patel, has performed the first telerobotic surgery between two US hospitals, removing a cancerous prostate from 66-year-old patient Mark from 35 miles away. Simon Richardson, 35, is on trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court accused of murdering head teacher Michael Mullins, 56, who was knocked off his bike in Warburton on 20 April. Mullins became trapped under Richardson's Volvo and was dragged for 2.2km. Prosecutors allege Richardson knew Mullins was under the vehicle but drove on; Richardson denies this. A person was rushed to hospital after a crash at the junction of Glenmere Road and Burnt Ash Hill in Lewisham on 27 October. Emergency services were called to the scene at 2.40pm. The patient was treated at the scene as a priority and taken to a major trauma centre. Their condition is not known.

Simon Richardson, 35, is on trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court accused of murdering headteacher Michael Mullins, 56. On 20 April, Richardson drove his Volvo through a junction on Paddock Lane in Warburton, Altrincham, and struck Mr Mullins as he cycled home from work. Mr Mullins became entangled under the vehicle as Richardson drove 2.2 kilometres, leaving a trail of blood. A motorcyclist found Mr Mullins on a grass verge in Lymm and he was pronounced dead shortly after. Richardson's defence barrister Jaime Hamilton told the jury that whilst Richardson was 'selfish' and responsible for Mr Mullins's death, his actions did not constitute murder or manslaughter.

Federal law enforcement agents searched a Beverly Hills home on Tuesday as part of an investigation into Eric Swalwell, who resigned from Congress amid sexual misconduct allegations. The Royal British Legion launched its annual Poppy Appeal in Carterton, with RAF Brize Norton Station Commander Group Captain Kate Macartney in attendance. The appeal raises funds to support serving and ex-serving personnel, veterans and their families. Group Captain Macartney said the appeal is 'a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by those who have served our nation'.

An indecent assault charge against Russell Brand has been changed to attempted indecent assault at the halfway stage of his trial. Mr Justice Bennathan directed jurors to find Brand not guilty of the original indecent assault allegation, concluding there was insufficient evidence to support it. The attempted indecent assault charge, relating to an allegation that Brand grabbed a female MTV worker by the arm and tried to drag her into a toilet in 2001, has been added to the indictment. Brand denies all seven charges against him, including rape and sexual assault.

Gear4music has reported stronger sales in its latest half-yearly report. UK revenue rose three per cent to £51 million for the six months ending September 30, 2026, with European and rest-of-world revenue up eleven per cent to £34.4 million, bringing total revenue to £85.4 million. Gross profit reached £23.6 million, though projected EBITDA of £5.7 million reflects setup costs for the company's new automated UK warehouse.
